I am a founding member of the band and its first director for a very short time – well, I knew enough to be able to kick off a piece and then play along on my euphonium. The founding members were all smart enough to know that Lindsey Borden was and remains a gifted conductor.
I began playing euphonium in 4th grade in Edwardsville, Illinois. When we moved from Illinois to Buffalo, New York in six grade, I played trombone since that is the only instrument the school had. While in high school at Kenmore East in Tonawanda, New York I played tuba and string bass. Tuba remains my main instrument, but I continue to play trombone and euphonium occasionally.
My wife Bonnie and I have been married 54 years and live in Mendon. We have two daughters and four grandchildren and of which have graduated from or are currently attending Honeoye Falls – Lima schools.
